Re-Fashioned Tops
Hello My Blogger Friends,
I figured while I was still trying to figure out how to use the Video part of my camera, I would show you a couple of pictures of some tops that I kind of re-fashioned so I could wear them comfortably.
First there is this awesome lime yellow (that's what I call it) small T top that I had purchase at a quick moment when I went to work and the top I was wearing just looked like crap...it was Saturday and I was delivery tires at the time...yes tires.
I would do pretty much any job that entailed driving because I just loved to drive.
Anyway, I quickly drove to the closest mall which was a couple of minutes away and ran through the mall looking for any store where I could find a decent top....so low and behold I spotted this awesome T which I just loved the colour so I grabbed it...
should have picked up a small, but bought a medium instead...needless to say the medium was a little loose, and being a V-neck didn't help with all the bending I had to do while slugging tires to customers.:)
As soon as I got home I pulled out some lace pieces I have amongst my fabrics and found a piece that I thought looked nice with this T and quickly pinned it in place while I wore it, then took off the top and sewed it in place with the machine.....cut of any excess lace and there I had a cute T in one of my favourite colours ready to wear comfortably now with the lace.
Second... Wow, this top has got to be over twenty years old forsure!...I bought this top at a Rib Fest in London, Ontario while visiting a good friend and my oldest daughter was with me too because she was the only child at the time of this purchase. We had a great time at the Rib Fest ... ya know, ate some yummy ribs, went on a few rides and then came upon a great selection of silk screened T-shirts which I couldn't resist. I still remember my daughter bought one with a Lion and I bought this one of the Zebra. It had a crew neck.
I do love large T-shirts to wear sometimes, but it always bugged me because they looked manly and I wanted mine to have a bit of fem to it...you know what I mean? So, out came the scissors and lace.
Made a V-neck first, added the lace, and even put a small slit on each side of this top which I still wear today. I would say the 50 bucks I paid for it way back then was worth it if I'm still getting use out of it. :) Adding a belt to any large T always looks nice too.

Learning To Do Video
Hi everyone,
I'll get quick to the point on this posting because I am trying to figure out how to use the video on my camera.
Now, it surely is not top of the line but I'm sure it can do the trick.
I figure it would be a lot easier for me to do a tutorial by Video than to take a picture and comment for each step.
Since it is only myself without anyone to help me, (when our children grow everyone is busy with their own things).
I was lucky enough to even have the camera given to me, but without a guide book to show me directions, and so far I haven't had luck trying to Google and get the one I need. (I hope they make them still) :)
Maybe...

My Widget
Well...I hope I'm saying it right, but I want a widget for other Bloggers to be able to add to their blog to follow me.
I have a couple that I had copied the html and pasted into my blog so now I have their widget....but for some reason I think I'm calling it by the wrong name...
You do know what I'm talking about though...right?
I will continue this tomorrow when I get my facts straight. :)
Until then,

New Messenger Bag Recycled from Burlap Coffee Sack
Hello All,
I am so happy because I finally completed my first coffee sack messenger bag and am so happy with the outcome.
It did take me more time than I thought because I am so fussy with all the little details.
If you remember a couple of posts ago I mentioned when I went to Victoria Park and Kingston Road with my large plastic "Ikea" blue bag so that I could what ever fit into the bag. The funny thing is

Sewing Without Patterns per say
I don't usually have a bought pattern that I work from when trying to create and or design. What I do, is have different sizes and shapes that I've cut from bristol board to act as a guideline and then I take it from there.
I create as I go along according to what fabric I've chosen and what I have on hand for the lining plus any hardware that would match.
Most of my hardware is recycled from old belts, purses, or any other place I can find metal gadgets to use while creating a purse/bag, even jewellery because I only make One-Of-A-Kind designs. And that goes for everything I make.
You might see two bags made with the same fabric, like the one on top (picture taken inside) and then the bag I made on the bottom (picture taken outside) picture with the same main fabric, but totally different looking bag.
The first one is listed in my shop Right Here and the second bag I decided to keep myself because I needed a new large bag, and since I love across the chest bags the best...it is mine now.:)
I'm almost finished the coffee burlap bag and can't wait to post a picture for all to see. I design as I go along and am always happy with the finished product.
Anything I create, design, and put together I would proudly wear or use myself.
I hope you see the quality in the work and most of all, the love I have in designing them.
You just have to be patient because it's only me right now doing it all.
I would love to see what you are working on and if you make your own patterns and do you already have the whole design in your head before you start your work.
Until next time.

Hello Bloggers,
What are you up to this glorious Saturday?
Me? I have finished another purse but haven't taken pictures yet...as soon as I do though I will put a picture here so you can have a look.
I don't know if I mentioned it, but I had picked up some awesome looking burlap coffee bags.
I thought I'd give it a go and make a few different style bags, from large to small and perhaps even an extra large one to take

Hello Crafters and Artisans,
What are you creating today?
I am working on yet another purse which I love designing.
I only make One-Of-A-Kinds so that you can have a special bag of your own.
The last one I completed above, is now available in my Shop of Handmade which is called Visual imaginaries by LauraBelle.
The bag I'm working on now is made with the same fabric but has a whole different look to it and when it is completed I will post it here for you to have a look.
I would love to hear from you and see what you are working on and link you to my blog so that we can become creating friends.
Until next time.

A Sad, Unrelated to My Blog, Topic
It just broke my heart to hear on the news last night about another dog being left locked in a car, in the heat, in a shopping mall parking lot.
The saddest part is that the dog died by the time someone actually did something about it.
The Police or Fire Department smashed the car window but it was too late.
Come on people! other people must have seen that dog when they parked their car and did/said nothing. Shame on you!
It is everyone's business to stand up when an animal or child is being neglected or abused.
Just call the Police!
Rest in peace poor doggie.
Sorry for this sad post but I needed to say this.

Frugal Sunday
My First Frugal Sunday
I'm excited
So...
I started making a long skirt from a couple of stripped tops that I've had for a couple of years just being worn once in a blue moon, because when I saw a picture on "All Free Sewing" of a skirt, I thought oh yeah I can do that. (Can't find the actual link, but when I do I'll add it.)
Of course I forgot to take pictures from the start (since I'm not use to blogging let alone another tutorial) but am not finished yet so I'll go take some pictures of the cut up parts and what I have done so far then will add to this post once the skirt it totally finished will all the pictures. Cool.:)
I did actually start the skirt on Saturday, but since it won't be completed till Sunday I figured it can be my 1st Frugal Sunday item.
Hope you like my version.
Here are some pictures...
What you see first, are the two stripped tops I picked to make my version of the skirt. They are already cut because I forgot to take a picture of them first.
After I cut each top, I cut the square section into two pieces to alternate them when sewing together...like this.
Then, when all the seams were sewn together, I folded over the top of the skirt, pinned it, and then sewed it down, leaving a little opening so that I could insert the elastic.
Once I inserted the elastic, I overlapped the elastic and sewed it together, then I sewed the opening closed and did a zig zag stitch around the edge to complete my skirt.
Here is my completed version. When I can get someone to take a picture of me wearing it I will add it to this post.
Because the two tops I used were different sizes, one was a large and the other was a medium, the dark blue pieces puff a little but that just gives the skirt a look of it's own.
I figured you could also use just plain coloured large or medium T-shirts and make many different coloured skirts for you, your family and friends. :) even small ones for kids! Cool!

Test Post
I am still trying to figure out how to actually post onto the different pages, so I am trying this way to see if it works.
Right over here is a picture of a necklace that I made by hammering some copper into a flower and added glass beads and a glass leaf.
Now if this actually shows up in my tutorial section I will change it to a necklace I also made with some copper hardware parts and have pictures to show some of the steps.
End of test...

Hi all,
I am fostering a cute small dog because he was in a bad situation so I volunteered to take care of him until we can find him a forever home filled with love.
The reason I am not going to keep this 2 year old cutie is two fold, first of all I lost my Rosie on December 7/11 and it still feels like yesterday. I had Rosie from 4 weeks old and she went to heaven when she was just short of her 16th Birthday. (Love u Rosie <3)
When Rosie left she took a piece of my heart with her and I don't think I'll ever get a full time dog again, but I don't mind at all to

Trying to Create and Take Care of My Health
Hello...Creators, Designers, Artisans,
I can't believe it! I just wrote a four paragraph content with pictures and links and it was wiped out!
Frig, does that ever irritate me. Because of that I will keep this one short because it's late and I'm a little bugged now.
Anyway, had an angiogram on Monday April 16th and all look well, for the most part. Hooray!
Just completed a pretty pendant that would look lovely on especially right now I am having a 20% Off sale and don't know how

Trying to Add a Link to my Shop
Hi there,
What I'm trying to do is link directly to my shop on "Artfire".
I copied the area I was to copy, but I don't understand where I'm to add it, so I think I'll try and add it as a widget.
So...here goes. If you see a widget with my shop "LauraBelle" click on it and see if it works. That would help me out and if you don't get directed to my shop perhaps you could add a comment to this posting to let me know so I can try and fix it. Still learning, or should I say, Always learning! :)

Hello 2012 I'm almost Fully Here
It has taken me awhile to get on my feet from the loss of my dog Rosie...I still miss her so much but know in my heart that I had to let her go.
She is in my thoughts everyday but at least I have been slowly creating and designing which is what I love to do.
I have made a few new things that have been added to my shop Here and hope to start moving a little faster because there is many items that are waiting to have their picture taken, described and uploaded to my shop.
There is a few blogs that I follow that I think are superb and hope to learn many tips from them on how to really set up a good blog. It all still seems confusing to me which makes me feel like a complete idiot. You'd think by now I'd understand....Not!
I love listening to April at BlacksBurgBelle who has wonderful ideas, on pretty much anything you want to ask her. She is so helpful! I love you April for taking the time to send me some things to work on to try and get my head screwed on straight so that I can move forward with my so called Business.
That's exactly what I'd like to do this year is have my own website up and earning enough money to cover my overhead so I can work from home full time on what I love to do.
Please take a minute to check out April's Site and sign up for your own subscription so you won't miss one more moment of good sound advice.
I'm glad to be back and hope I keep the faith and continue moving in the right direction.
What are your goals for this year? and have you started to implement them?
Talk soon
