I am so happy because I finally completed my first coffee sack messenger bag and am so happy with the outcome.
It did take me more time than I thought because I am so fussy with all the little details.
If you remember a couple of posts ago I mentioned when I went to Victoria Park and Kingston Road with my large plastic "Ikea" blue bag so that I could what ever fit into the bag. The funny thing is
I thought I would grab about 15 at least and I could only fit 8 of them into the bag because they were so large.:)
I wanted to video the trip when I went for the pick up but I'm still trying to figure out how to use the video selection on my camera. :)
I found this kind gentleman on "Craigslist" who is nice enough to donate them to who ever wants to come by and pick up, so I didn't mind the fact that I could only take 8 of them because I did want to leave some in case more people were interested in picking some up.
Here is another view of the bag showing some of the inside and one of the back side.
I just want to add one more to show the nice detail on the flap because I outlined and sewed in the middle of the design that was on the front of the flap giving a pretty quilted look except there was no quilt layer in between. I was hoping the thread would show way better than it took to do the work, but when you open the flap , I then feel really happy that I put the extra effort into the detail, plus it strengthened the bag.
The vibrant 100% cotton I used for the lining and strap was left over from a set of pillows I made which are listed in my SHop in case you want to take a peek.
There is two decent sized pockets inside with a separate cell phone pocket too, plus I added a key fob so you don't have to dig around for your keys.
This bag will be available in my shop, but I wanted to show you it first here to see if you like it.
I would consider it a large bag and great for shopping or even to carry books and notions for school.
Definitely a special bag that is very well made .
Can you tell how happy I am? :)
More detail and measurements will be available in my shop by tomorrow before I leave for an appointment.
Please Please Please let me know if there is anything you see that I should fix before I list it.
I want to make a couple more in different sizes and styles, but I am a bit excited in wanting to move on for a couple of days and create more jewellery for my shop and most of all make an "Anthropologie" knockoff (which seems to be a big thing going on right now) which I have almost completed a bracelet but also want to make a necklace too. I got hooked with the knockoffs through one of my favourite blogs "Flamingo Toes"...do take a look at the blog and I'm sure you will sign up too....right Here.
After reading this post if you actually get through it all, you might get a glimpse of how explosive I am when it comes to creating and designing because I just don't have enough time to do everything....so I Must slow down.....slow down....and go back and just finish off the bracelet that is waiting to debut here and then get posted in my shop.
Have a Great Thursday everyone.
Talk soon, and most importantly,
Don't Wait To Create :)
