Good Bye To My Best Friend.

Yesterday was a sad day. December 7 2011

I held her head in my hand while I whispered in her ear how much I loved her while she drifted off into eternal sleep. Rosie, my best friend.

She came into my life at 4 weeks old still not able to see clearly. We fell in love instantly and eternally until we meet again.

Rosie was an angel sent by God to brighten up my spirits and bring me out of depression. I will always be grateful for the wonderful time we had together, which was almost 16 years.

Rest in peace Rosie. No more pain. Run freely once again and play with all your friends. Until we meet again sweetheart.

I love you and will Never forget you.

Bye for now
your Mommy Laura xoxoxo

Halloween Is Near

Hello there,

Hope your designing and creating has been selling well and you are finding many ways to get visitors to your shop.

I did add a couple of Halloween items but have put more focus on winter gear, because I find time goes so fast I just can't keep up with all I'd love to do so I try and make a few items for each season to start and when something sells I just make a new one to replace it.  This way I don't have a lot of completed stock just sitting around. (Mainly because I just don't have the space to stock too much).

I also made a few more jewelry pieces that you can see in my shop soon because I still need to take pictures and get them posted.

I almost forgot to mention that I made a bag that turned out very nice and am just completing the second one so that I can get them posted in my shop too.

See what I mean, there just doesn't seem to be enough time, or I just don't know how to manage my time in a good way.

How about you? Do you know of a good way to manage your time so you don't feel so over whelmed?

I'd love to hear about it and I am open to all suggestions that could help me get more done. :)

Well back to the sewing table for me.

Have a great weekend.

Solid Copper Hardware and Wood Bead Necklace

Hello artisans,

I say that because I feel saying just crafter doesn't reach the heart of it.

I know when I'm creating something my heart goes into it, and just because I'm not using diamonds and gold  doesn't mean less in quality because I feel each and every thing I make, or create is worth it's weight in gold!

How about you?

I wanted to quickly show you what I made last night with some solid copper plumbing supplies.

Here's a picture of what I used to create an awesome looking necklace.

I used 60 inches of silk cording, a bowl of cream coloured wood beads (the bowl is almost empty because the necklace is almost completed at this point) ;) and of course solid copper couplings that I purchased at a hardware store. (the elbow joint is missing from this picture).

In this picture you can see the elbow joint that is also solid copper, but it is already part of the necklace that I have almost completed when I took these pictures. ( I thought of showing the process while making it).
Here's a picture with the necklace almost completed, and I'm so excited because it's looking really good.

I simply started with the elbow joint and centered it on the silk cord then knotted each side and added one smooth round wood bead. I had to play around a bit to make sure it was tight up against the copper.

From that point on I simply kept knotting the cord and adding a bead until I reached a spot that I wanted to add the copper coupling, and again played around with the knots until the beads on both end of the coupling were sitting nice and snug.

I continued knotting and beading until there was about 1 1/2 inches left of cord on each side.

Then, I put each side of the cord side by side and hand stitched them together to give good support and strength before wrapping the stitched cord with 26gauge sold copper wire.

I wrapped it tight and close from side to side with a good amount so that the copper wrapping blended nicely with the necklace.

Here is a picture of the completed necklace that I just Love! I hope the picture does it justice.

What a cool looking necklace if I do say so myself. :)

You should try one because it's a little time consuming, but so worth it.

I will be listing this necklace in my SHOP in case someone is interested to scoop it up.

Needless to say I will be visiting a hardware store again soon to look for other hardware pieces to implement into my jewelry.

Talk soon.

Yeah! I'm Back and LOOking for Help, help...

Well I finally had my medical tests completed,(shhh, colonoscopy) :( and after being made to feel like I was dying before the tests were completed, I am now finished with the tests and so far all is well.

I'm just glad to be back at my blog because I am still in the learning process of blogging the right way while still trying to complete the many projects that I've started.

I just love all the blogs that I have had a chance to see so far, and want to hook up with as many as possible.

Even that gets me in a fluster sometimes and then I blame my mind of not being able to grasp things properly.:)

I do have a webcam finally and can't wait

Time Off until after September 9th

Sorry I haven't posted all week, but due to a couple of medical issues, I will be taking time from posting until after September 9th.

It's only for a couple of weeks and I'll make up for it when I get back to posting.

Thanks for understanding, and I can't wait to see all I'll miss over the two week period.

I just need to take it easy and relax, so I don't want to post without giving thought to it and right now my mind just isn't into it.

See you then.

Frugal Sundays * *

Hello crafters,

When it comes to packaging and shipping I try to recycle as much as I can, and love it when I make things myself.

I do enjoy making my tags, jewelry cards, little fabric drawstring bags, or fabric envelopes, and spend a lot of time doing them. I do everything myself and like I said, enjoy every minute of it.

The only thing I usually buy made is the different sized plastic bags that I use. :)

Today I want to show you what I use to make

Cornuopian Saturday's

Yes, Saturday is left for the Abundance from the week past. (if that makes any sense) :)

Try to complete two things you have started.

Organize priorities.

List a new item in your shop.

Don't get overwhelmed.

Have fun...always. :)

Plan projects for the coming week.

Take a break...go for a walk.

Of course I will practice what I preach. :)

I'm sure like many others feel, there is never enough

Search and Share Fridays

Hello there,
Fridays is a great day to go out with a friend or few and search around for some goodies to add to your supplies.

I know I enjoy going out on a weekday to do my shopping because I find it less crowded with most people still at their day J.O.B.

Yes, I know this post is being done on Saturday morn, and that is because I nodded off early and didn't get a chance to post last night.
I did go out for a shop which was mostly random findings and a small can of varnish that I wanted to get for my handmade birch

Thursday - Realizations

Hi there,

I guess I should have figured out how to do a tutorial before I rushed ahead of myself to say that I would do one. :)

I did finish the little coin purse right here and used a piece of dark green felted wool, a black zipper, and for the lining I used a piece of  plaid, plus a heart that

Wednesday's Easy Peasy Tutorial

Sorry to make you wait for the tutorial, but,

I was totally sidetracked yesterday by one of my sister's and we were out all day. By the time I came home there really wasn't much time between having a very late dinner, walking the dog, and getting a few minutes to chill before getting to bed.

I'll get to work on the tutorial.

So I declare Wednesday's to be Easy Peasy Tutorials.

It will be a fun and simple tutorial to follow, especially for beginners.

Tuesday - Two Too To's Day

Hi there,
Hope your Tuesday is going well.

The three pictures I just posted are of the cat face I previously mentioned that my grandaughter needle felted. I thought it was so cute for her first try at it. :)

What she did was draw a picture of the cat head first and then

A Quickie Before Bed

Just wish I had time today to let you see the needle felting that my gran daughter accomplished from her first try at it.

It's the cutest!  I still have to take a quick picture in the morn, but that will be pretty much the first thing I will do when I get online.

Hope everyone had a great creating day, and if you have a shop I hope you made many sales.

Have a great sleep and I'll talk to you tomorrow which is only a few hours away. :)

Starting to nod off so I better get going.

Hello And Welcome To My Blog.

Hello there,
My name is Laura and I started this blog to post anything and everything that is going on in my life when it comes to crafting, sewing, cooking, and of course health and fitness. Basically I want to pull out from my imagination all the ideas that are stockpiled and make them visible for everyone to see. Hence the blog title. :)

Plus, I'd like to check out some tutorials  so I can
